Thoughts on Ski Resorts

I'm trying to plan a ski trip out West next year and I'm wondering if anybody could share their experiences at some of the different resorts.  I'm looking for a low key ski town that has a combination of good skiing, good night life, and resonable prices.  No kids involved, just me and a few buddies and possibly some girlfriends.

If you want low-key, then I wouldn't go to Co. Check out Montana or Utah, some pretty nice places.

Park City Utah is pretty good skiing and decent nightlife. A main straight like most others with a bunch of bars, and some really good restaurants.

Sundance Film Festival happens there so there's gotta be some decent happenings all things considered there.

Older vrother lives there, si I've been fortunate to go fairly often.

#1 Ajax Mountain Aspen Colorado, Jackson Hole or PC Utah.

Whistler you have to try hard to find a good run. Intermediate slopes.

Go to Aspen.

Missed a portion of your header. You want low key real top shit then hit Crested Butte Colorado. Dunno what your ability is but this mountain will buckle your boots real tight.

Very local place, down home and for real vertical skiers. Gem.

Dunno why noones mentioned TAHOE with legal sports betting  right there.  All resorts day trippable from Reno 1-2 hrs and you can stay in one of the casinos in South Lake Tahoe and walk to Heavenly.  Kirkwood is my favorite ski area in tahoe but Northstar and Squaw are both good as well.

If your going to South Lake Tahoe, the best hotel to stay at is the Marriot Timber Lodge, it's right next to Heavenly which to me is the best ski resort at Tahoe.

Jackson Hole and Crested Butte are both good......lots of ski resorts close to Salt Lake City.....Solitude, Alta and yes, Park City are all pretty nice and all within 45 minutes of SLC Airport.

i'll tell you where not to go,,,,,,,,WINTER PARK, CO---i bartended there for a month,,,,,,,it's a place for families and old people

I am a homer on this one but I would for sure say Utah.

From the airport, there are 7 resorts within 45 minutes.

Alta, Snowbird, Solitude, Brighton, Canyons, Park City and Deer Valley.

Staying in Park City, which is 40 minutes from Airport is the spot.  Plenty of good night life and great skiing.

If you decide on Park City, hit me up a PM and I can tell you the best restaurants, best hotels and best night life spots to hit up.  

Locals only knowledge type places.

  Well said...completely agree with everything said above.  

Park City for sure has the best restaurants and nightlife.  Also if your willing to travel a bit, Snowbasin is a hidden gem about 45 min. drive from PC.  Unreal skiing and its always empty- nothing to do there except ski though.

Brighton Utah is a resort i reccomend Snowbird rite next to it like mile away and also sking only resort close bye as well

i think i stayed in Sandy Utah about 35-40min from mountains  i rented a car a drove each day easy drive goes quick   i hear Idaho and Washington have nice resorts to

BC prob has really good nightlife i would have went there but i couldnt find low enough price on hotel i think vegas is only 5-6hr drive from utah
