Freddie..that was incredible.
The guy who makes those electric reels, R J Boyle, lives in my neighborhood. He has a great shop where you can buy all kinds of fishing gear & really cool light weight long sleeved shirts with all kinds of fishing designs. He's a tremendous guy in the community who gives fishing lessons to young kids both boys & girls. He was one of the 1st charter boat captains in the area but I don't think he runs charters anymore on a daily basis. He writes a weekly column for the local paper describing what is being caught offshore. In fact, you can call his shop & he'll tell you which reefs are producing, what bait to use & the sea conditions. That was wild seeing his name mentioned in the video.
I've never had grouper soup. And you may find this wild, as much as I love to fish, my wife and I don't eat fish! It's so odd living in South Florida and not eating fish. We like to catch it & share it with neighbors.
It was also great to see how the Asian community uses the entire fish unlike us Americans. Each year I meet to fish with buddies from Viet Nam & that is where I first learned how the different parts of the fish are delicacies given to the elders as a sign of respect. They come visit me here, I travel to Texas to fish on Lake Texoma for stripers & in the summer they visit us in Michigan where we catch bass, pike, walleye & bluegills on our lake.
The guy in your videos is so enthusiastic & I loved that he shared his catch with 1st responders and others on the island.
Thanks for sharing the videos Freddie!

MUGG...it's real expensive as well.
Tourists in the hotels near the beach will go the marina @ 11:30 & 4:30 each day when the charter boats return in hopes of buying fresh fish. Then they will bring it to local restaurants that will cook it for them anyway they want it for a minimal charge.
Goliath grouper are still a protected species & you have to go miles offshore to bag one of those.

Midnight-Hello my friend. Glad to share another video. It's really amazing to see how beautiful deep sea fishing can be. Currently I'm living in landlocked Nevada and a move to Florida is in my future. A friend from my days in Seattle lives in Orlando and after twenty years in Las Vegas with the job market and the local economy circling the drain it's time for a change of scenery. I went through 9/11 here, the crash of 2008 both of which took a LONG time to recover from and what they are dealing with now is beyond imaginable.
I'll keep sharing the videos and it's great to see people enjoying them as much as I do. God bless one and all.

Mugg & Stump-I have yet to taste grouper and shark, but once I get to Florida it's open season. I want to sample everything there is. I fondly remember the days at Pike Place Market buying whole salmon and sending fish to friends across the US that loved the quality and taste. A Filipino co worker instead of having it cut up as Midnight said they wanted the whole fish because her Dad loved making soup with the head. It's full of omega 3 which has numerous health benefits. Thanks for watching and your comments as well.
