John Tortorella the ex-Rangers coach and now head coach of Team USA at the World Cup of
Hockey drove that point home again Tuesday, saying that if any of his
players emulate 49'ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick and for the national anthem ,then they will be benched for the entirety of the game.
“If any of my players sit on the bench for the national anthem, they will sit there the rest of the game,” Tortorella told ESPN.
The 58-year-old from Boston has always embraced the chance to help USA Hockey, and has taken his role as the Americans’ head coach for the World Cup very seriously.
