So I just finished up a brutal contract following around 3 rigs basically all winter/spring and getting literally no days off until it finally ended of recent.
Finally home until late August and I am bored as s**t during the afternoons, so I need NEED something to do in a part-time sense.
Saw ad for UBER and decided, hey, I can use my work Jimmy and do this. My car qualified, I sent them my plate info, emissions stickers, insurance info, registration, the f**king works and it was all good.
After going through all of this ridiculous screening s**t, and proving that I have never had a felony or misdemeanor or summary offense, they just emailed me and it stated, "we cannot accept your application due to your driving history, and a motor speeding ticket you had received in Feb. of 2011.
I requested the copy of my driving record and saw that one speeding ticket that I had in Feb in which I was going 75 in a 60 and assigned points (I couldn't fight ticket due to work).
One ticket in a 10-year history. ONE ticket.
Has anybody else been turned away from work either with these boners or elsewhere because of one lousy f**king speeding ticket!?!?!?! I mean f**k UBER to begin with, I'll just sleep and bore myself playing MLB the Show all day (and pretend to work out); but it really does burn my asss that they demand drivers be 100% robotically boy scout perfect in every way as if this was a gov't position.

Try the other one. Lyft---I think it is. From what I hear some drivers prefer it for % reasons I think.
Or try calling Uber or emailing direct. Ask them their exact policy and if there is a waiver or something.
I know a few people who drive---they love it and are doing great. Especially if you live in a city that allows pickups at the airport. I have to ask the folks I know---but I think a couple have had recent tickets.
But if you find out anything---please post updates.

Mainly because it is dangerous. These companies do prescreening and do the payments online for you etc.
Not to mention you will have to advertise, etc.
Also will need to get a license etc.
Ask yourself, for example, would you rather get in just any person's car or some prescreened and approved person's car? Especially if you are a female.
These companies are growing at a great clip. It is apparently a unique business model.

10 years old? Call the mandatory action unit in your state drizzle, that will be erased in less than 2 minutes over the phone. Not many people know about MAU.

Thats ridiculous...email the person who is the head of the Uber office in your city and tell them the story. It is possible he/she could do something for you and maybe overrule the rejection. I'm sure they get 1000s of applications and weeding out people who have ANY violation or ticket just makes it easier for HR to sor tthru all the applications and create less work. Emailing the head directly shows you taking initiative and you never know he could reconsider you. GL
