Was my friend scamming me?

So my friend kept borrowing from me because he supposedly owed a bookie money and last December he said he needs more money to owe the bookie and I told him no then he told me that he will tell the bookie where I live and the bookie will come after me I didn't give my friend the money its been 3 months and the bookie hasn't come after me so I'm not sure if my friend really owed the bookie money or if he was scamming me

The money borrowing has been happening from July 2017 to Dec 2017 its been 3 months and the bookie hasn't come after me so was my friend scamming me?

Most bookies have a long list of deadbeats. Typically the list is 4 - 5 months long. Go into hiding, your time is almost up.

Its been 3 months I didn't have the money to borrow my friend and the bookie hasn't came after me I think I was being scammed by my friend
