Im in Norway until Sunday and geez this place is expensive. your average pub is 2 or more for a measly average burger. Not a bad country though! Who else here likes to travel? I will finally get to the Caribbean in late March for the 1st time. St. Lucia to be exact!

Between '84 and '89 the man was untouchable.

Maybe he can make the HOF via Playing / Manager career.

Only thing I can fault him for was he had a FUGLY wife.

Sounds great man!  I love to travel also, been many places in Europe and the Caribbean also.  I liked St. Maarten, the whole Dutch side/French side thing was interesting.  Never been to Norway though

Cant think of living without being able to see some of the world. I should say 20 bucks for a burger. everything is crazy expensive. good thing I brought tons of protein bars to help the cause!

I've thought the same thing about a travel forum.  Headed to Philippines in 3 weeks for a couple months and it would be nice to hear of the experiences of others that have been there.
I'd love see Norway but I have heard, as you said, it's quite expensive.

Traveling is the only thing my wife and I can justify blowing a lot of money on!  We've been to several countries in Europe as well as several countries in SE Asia.  We love to travel, although we haven't taken as many trips in the past couple of years as we have in the past.  Just had a baby several months back.  Norway has never been on our list of places, but I bet it's awesome.  I bet the women are hot!

Hey Crus - I was in Oslo a few times.  It is really nice - but as you say tremendously expensive.

Like OGMike above - my life has turned a 180 in the past 10 years.  I used to buy stuff, but now I like to think I buy experiences.  The ratio used to be 90/10 stuff, but now I think it is totally reversed at 90/10 experiences.

I have travelled the world.  I am the highest level of frequent flyer on 3 airlines (100k miles each).  I am not a rich person - but we prioritize and spend on this now - instead of crap I don't want, need, or will never use.

I have been to all the states except 6,,Mexico,Canada and Jamaica. Hopefully going on my first cruise the end of this year.  Rented a 5 bedroom cabin at the Gatlinburg Falls Resort for a family vacation 2 years ago(14) people. Well worth it,just a relaxing family time.  Love to travel

Leaving for PI in 10 days. Where are you spending most of your time? I've heard Palawan is awesome, but unsure if we'll make it there. Thinking of Baguio, Sagada, Boracay, Bohol, and Dumaguete. Then heading to Cambodia, Laos, Thailand, and Vietnam.

 I'm headed to Bandon Dunes next week to play all the courses. In May I have my annual trip to Palm Springs for more golf, backed up by 10 days in Cabo ( yes, my sticks will be with me). I'm gonna try to make it to Germany this summer to see a nephew in the USAF.
 I enjoy traveling but I can't stand being cooped up in a plane for more than about 4-5 hours so a trip to Europe will be the longest I've taken in a while. . First class helps but I can't afford to do that very often.

Sounds like a nice trip.  you are going to have a great time. I visited Palawan and Bohol last year.  You really should get to Palawan.  It's well worth the trip.  It's paradise.  Bohol is awesome as well. 
I'll be mostly on Cebu Island.  I have a place in the mountains just outside Cebu City.  If you are planning to visit Cebu Island give me a shout.

americans can't/won't travel, 2 weeks of vacation,petrified of losing their job if they take a vacation 

I've quit 2 jobs to travel, you only live once

I sent you a PM. I'd love to pick your brain. I've read that El Nido and the islands north of there are amazing. I definitely want to go  but it might next time. I kind of feel like Baguio/Sagada along with Subic Bay/Angeles City go together for the area north of Manila and Bohol/Dumaguete go together in the south. We have 16 days and I think Palawan demands 5, so I'm not sure what makes the most sense......................

South East Asia is pretty nice and relaxing I hear. Always wanted go on that iternerary esp. Uruguay, Argentina and Cuba bound next Tuesday. Gets old these places... Work.

Vanzack...I agree on spending and buying experiences. Im not a big materialistic person so I like to spend my money on vacations and memories. Im not logging into Itunes buying songs and all that type of money spending...I would rather spend it on a flight somewhere...

totter...nice job hitting the states...

Ive found that there is so much in our own countries backyard. After studying abroad in Italy back in college for a semester I was travel bug smitten, but for some reason it was all international wanting...but about 5 years ago I set out on some serious road trips...5,000 miles in 10 days type road trips...in that time Ive visited nearly 20 National Parks (love the outdoors and hiking) and now have been to 47 of the 50 states...and driven through them...not just a layover...

The US has so much to offer..it is like 4 countries in its own...North east...Midwest, South and West. So different, yet all so great.
