I think we will see two differenet styles.  One that goes small and you will have a combination headset phone.  Then the other one will have be a hybrid of tablet/cellphone.  The best thing will be the much faster CPU's in them.   But by then hopefully we will be beyond the circuit style chips we have now.

They can only become so small. After a certain point they'd be so small that they'd become cumbersome.

I believe that in 20 yrs your phone, car, house etc. will all be linked together. Your phone will tell you how much gas you have in your car and how much milk you habe in the fridge.

 I have always thought this also. Same with computers, imagine just closing your eyes and moving the mouse with your mind. Or being able to communicate with someone across the world without saying or typing a word.

I agree... For as strange as this sounds just look at the technology in just the past 30 years....

I watched a except about some blind guy who got a camera installed into a glass eye and then into his optic nerve and he can actually somewhat see...

I could see them being wearable and flexible with a little brain center that recognizes your own voice really well.

I'm sorry but will computers and phones be different??? I personally think that all shit will be wireless and somewhat attached to the body. I know flying car type philosophy, but w/ current advances and pushing of corporate greed...I cannot for the life of me think that 1 doesn't go w/ the other expertise...I know nanobots and what have you are for the future, but 20 yr's and technology/science/market greed won't provide us w/ some uses that almost coincide w/ brain patterns....

Not that I'm totally opposed since computer memory is beyond our complexity, but to think some device isn't hard-wired in is almost laughable these days...Maybe the saying should be "if you think it, it will come".

It's not like I dream it or wish it will happen, but 20 yr's ago the internet concept of speaking to people across the world and passing ideas was seen as ridiculous. I hope I'm not so old but I remember when tapes on Walkman's were seen as revolutionary I know burning a tape (not even cd) was seen a new age science and talking on the phone from your car was totally revolutionary 20 yr's ago, hell pagers were still hip just about a decade ago

So to think facebook or whatever Goldman fantasy comes to life isn't that far-fetched in my mind. I doubt in 20 yr's you can talk to some1 w/out video and beyond that well let's see where technology goes

there will be no such things as cell phones in 20 years. basiclly the us government will implant chips inside our body and therefore we will be able to communicate with telepathy.  they will track us and know our whereabouts every time we take a shit. oh im sorry its happening now with smartphones.
