for the term coronavirus... do you say china virus, or do you say covid-19 ?
Depends. If i'm talking about the virus itself, I say SARS CoV2. If i'm talking about the disease I say Covid-19, kung flu, or Hong Kong Fluey.

Chinese virus or Wuhan virus are acceptable forms IMO. It's important to never forget who is responsible for bringing this to a global pandemic, and killing hundreds of thousands of people.

And it's Covid 19.
China Virus sounds like something leaking out of Trumps pie hole.

some good ones in here... I cringe when I hear china virus...
I'm betting that it will be more politically correct than that. Unlike the Spanish Flu.....

kung flu is dumb as fck
kung flu is dumb as fck
It's actually pretty comical to me. Not as comical as Hong Kong Fluey. Frankly, anything that usesthe term "flu" is dumb seeing as how it is a different and completely seperate virus than influenza but you asked a question. What are the terms WE use. The virus family has a technical name. This strain has a technical name. The disease/syndrome has a technical name. So really, even asking this question is dumb as fuck. Which is probably why so few responded.

Definitely Covid-19
Although history may very well call it the Trump virus.
Agree with Midnight1. Covid-19 is the accurate name.
Coronavirus is being used but really there are SEVERAL types strains of coronavirus. Covid-19 is more specific.
However, I remember in the late '69-70 in high school living thru the Hong Kong Flu (common name!) and a couple years later the London Flu. These can be looked up to see those were the common names. However as Stu points out this isn't like any common flu so the term "flu" really isn't accurate at all.
I call it covid-19 too but often refer to it as the trump-virus as do many....because it's important to never forget who is responsible for allowing this global pandemic to take hold here and spread via his negligence, and killing over 157,000 Americans.
