Court records show that Paige Steiner faces 290 felony and gross misdemeanor counts, including charges of burglary, grand larceny, intent to utter fictitious bills or checks, and conspiracy to commit criminal contempt. Shravan Singh faces felony charges of embezzlement valued at $100,000 or greater, forgery, forgery by altering computer data, and a gross misdemeanor count of conspiracy to commit embezzlement.
According to the Control Board, the alleged operators of the scheme used internal information technology systems at their disposal, as employees of the licensee, to illegally add money to sports wagering kiosks, and then print and redeem fraudulent wagering vouchers. The licensee was able to use internal security to uncover the alleged criminal activity and report it to the board.

"How could people be so stupid to think they could get away with it?
Greed over rides their common sense. I saw it first hand once. I walk into the book, the head of security is waiting for me, tells me my night shift manager changed the time on a game, reopened it after results were in, and sold a ticket. When the guy showed up for his shift he was arrested and perp-walked in cuffs out of the casino.
He was busted different ways. First, managers don't write tickets. He was caught on camera writing a ticket at the station of a kid who was on his break. Second, Accounting Dept. uses a daily report to check every ticket cashed. One of the things they look at is time of ticket sale compared to start time of event.
The guy had no chance of getting away with it. But, like I said, greed sometimes . . .
I always wave back at the little Amazon guy. I feel like it's the courteous thing to do.
