One player flips over pocket 2s. I mucked my hand pre-flop AND the bad beat jackpot. 2222 vs 7777 I can't remember if there was a pre flop raise. I got hassled by the dealer the most, and a few of the players kept bringing it up in good fun. But i can't get over it, and wish I had just played the hand. But also know I shouldn't beat myself up over it. Trying to believe that there are plenty of bad beats that get mucked over the course of the day, and just never pan out. Jackpot was 12k, so I would have taken about 3k.

So here's my story...Playing 3/6 limit hold em'.
I fold 7-5 off suit pre flop
Flop 2-2-7
Turn - 7
River - 7

Are you sure the bad beat pays when one of your cards is the kicker? Most places these days require a pocket pair for quads to count
Yeah, the dealer was hoping for someone in the hand to have the fourth 7. My 5 kicker would have played, 77775, vs 22227. Both hole cards need to play. Quads over quads is the minimum for it to hit.
Thanks Thorpe for the silver lining...thing is, I may play it if it were suited, but it wasn't. I wish I was able to say that there was a preflop raise, but I folded and didn't pay much attention to the hand until after all the cards were dealt.

It did throw me off slightly, second guessing my folds in certain situations. Just hoping it doesn't linger into my future days around the table.
I do chuckle at the players who arrive at the table with the intention of hitting the bad beat, and making it known to the dealers to "c'mon, lets do it! you feeling lucky?"

Way too much missed action to assume how he hand would have been played out. The other guy with 2222 got it on the flop, you did not. He might have bet you off that hand. Maybe not.
