In the 21st Century there have been over 150 Gr.1 dirt races run between a mile and a quarter and a mile and a half in North America.......the Storm Cat line has only accounted for 3 victories.
Consider if you will that horses sired by Storm Cat were valued at over a billion dollars combined before racing..........the distance questions become very real.
