We have 5 great days of racing from Saratoga starting Thursday including the Belmont. I believe the race will be in Saratoga next year as well while the construction continues at Belmont.
Saturday post time is 10:45 EST. The Belmont goes off at 6:41.
A capping note..Sierra Leone is 2 noses away from being 5 for 5.
The MET will be run as Race 10 with one of my favorites, White Abarrio, going against Baffert's shipper National Treasure.
The 14th & last race on Saturday's card caught my attention because the Otirz brothers are on #1 & 2 for Wesley Ward going 5.5F on the turf. This race is loaded with the usual suspects having horses in the race. People will be hanging around to watch this one.

In the 9th, I noticed #14 Mischief Magic is a 1st time gelding for Charlies Appleby. He's run 2nd & 3rd in his only tries in the states & for that he was gelded even after banking over 850k. He was the beaten favorite going 5.5F in both races. ML is 8-1 but I don't see getting that #.
He closes like a son of a gun but I think he may need that extra half furlong. What makes it even more interesting to me is that Appleby goes to William Buick for this ride. He'll definitely need to keep him closer to the place.
He'll have to beat Asmussen's #8 Cogburn who is owned by Stormy Daniels lawyer, Clark Brewster.

The rennovation of Belmont Park is in the neighborhood of 455 million.
Belmont @ the SPA merchandise is expensive but collectors want a piece of it. And that's great for local economy including the hotels, bars & restaurants. The town expects to make close to 50 million or 10 million a day.
There are 24 stakes races over the 5 day period with 10 million in purses.
The regular SPA meet starts July 11th.

In Race 8 #6 El Capi won by 9 at first asking in December @ Aqueduct & then took a 6 month vacation. He shows up today & his getting hammered at the windows. Is he that good?
My play is #1A Contrary Thinking. Chad Brown follows the "why run 2 when 1 will do" with the scratch of #1 General Partner.
