Derby disgrace!!!

Racing may never recover from this bad DQ. Why didn't the jocks on the two horses that were impeded claim foul? Because they knew they were sitting on a hores that had no chance to win. Prat should be ashamed of himself for objecting on the horse that didn't affect his placing. Typical no class French coward. I'm not going sour grapes becauce I bet Game Winner who was bumped out of the gate and at the half mile pole. I think it's time to limit the Derby to 14 horses to stop having a calvery charge to the first and last turn. Let's face it, half the fields in this and other Derbys don't belong in the race. We had a maiden running in this one because he finished 2nd or 3rd in races and earned enough points to qualify. Maybe we need horses to earn more points to get in the Derby like 150 or more. This would limit the size of the field to maybe 10-12 and really see who is the best horse. But that will never happen because they want more owners in the game, able to get box seats at the race, able to say their horse ran in the Derby. I've been betting horses for 45 years and had many horses not win because of interference or have won and was DQ'd that's the way the game works so no sour grapes but this was a horrendous outcome for racing and the Derby. Hopefully changes can be made about field size to give legit horses a better chance to win the race!!!

I agree with you.  They don't allow 20 horses to run in any other race except the Kentucky Derby.  There is always alot of bumping and banging in this race, it is expected.  Why didn't the stewards do an inquiry?  I also agree with you on Prat, both him and the trainer Mott have no class.  Been playing the horses for over 50 years, racing is on the way out.  In Chicago the tracks only race 2 or 3 times a week, small fields, the tracks here and the OTB treat the horse players like dirt, always have.  Now the advent of legal sports betting will put the final nail in horse racing.  I saw where the owners of the horse taken down asked the stewards to meet with them after the racing day for a few minutes, they refused "talk to our lawyers", they wouldn't even take any questions from the press after their decision.  I'm finally fed up with this bullshit and the shenanigans that go on with this sport.  I only had a small bet on an also ran in the race, so no sour grapes here on that score.
