I'm always amazed at the level of competetive balance that is the Kentucky Derby". I could handicap this race for a month and find favor withat least six possible winning scenarios today. However, only one of these Champions will hit the wire first(dead heats withstanding). So, given the nature of the beast, I'm going with the "biggest boy on the block" Union Rags. If this race sets up midtrack and Lepardeux gets him set, the kick to this horse is incredible. I see him being guided off the pace to the quarter pole and if he doesnt rate in, he will blow by the early speed and outrun the closers in the eighth pole to the stretch run. Should be clear by that point, and those big legs will charge to the wire. Here's my action;
$100.00 Win and Place
$50 Exacta partial wheel with 3,6,11,14,19 first and second.
See you at the pay window! GL Guys.

Despite the depth and talent in this race, I feel 9/2 is great value on UR who is the most talented horse in the race. Despite not getting any great trips, he is consistantly puts up mid 90s beyers. If he can find a hole after stalking today, he has a great shot.
The derby is due for some chalk!

I agree RM, looking at the Champagne Stakes, this guy buried the same talent and drew away by 6.5 lengths. Alpha was a photo for place, but not even close to this "Stud".
