Just watched the Belmont replay show. Wow, Durkin missed the whole Animal Kingdom near breakdown. He has slipped a little. Colmus was right on it.

Yeah man Collmus hit it spot on, if it wasnt for him I would never have seen it...I hate the start of races because you can only focus on one horse and you miss everything else that goes on. I would have never caught it either...but I would rather listen to Durkin call the race any day over Collmus, not a fan of that guy...Collmus that is. I am also a big Trevor Denman fan.

AFTER READING DURKIN'S COMMENTS ABOUT WHY HE is no longer doing the TC races, I can see that he is starting to slip a bit. Not that he is going senile or something, but sometimes what happens when folks get older is that they get a mental block.

My father, for example, became very afraid to drive his car at age 50. He drove a truck part time too, so all of a sudden having a fear of driving was a big problem....it came out of nowhere.

Yeah, again I still think he is the best, but missing the AK stumble was not good especially when Larry was right on it.

very much so.  great voice (not to sound like a man crush thing)  great tempo and builds it up at the right time.

I remember him missing Mine That Bird's run...........Thinking he second guessed what he was seeing though.....after having called him 25+ lengths back at the half mile or so.

I enjoy listening to his calls though. Denman too.
