Florida & Arkansas Derby

Both tracks have great cards tomorrow. I'll be playing both tracks until the basketball games start. Amazing we have 2 South Florida teams in the semis.

Here are some quick thoughts on Gulfstream.

Race 1 we have 9 first time starters out of 12. In the double, I'll play 5-12-8-3.

Race 2 they will have to catch #9 & I think Javier will on #6. Those are my double plays. 

Race 3 I think Mr. Ramsey's #5 will like the shorter distance & he's undefeated @ GP going 2 for 2.  Mr. Ramsey has won 8 of 17 races this year. #8 & #9 will complete my box.

Race 4 like the jock change to Saez on #5 @15-1 in a WPS play. Pletcher has the twice beaten favorite here in #9.

Race 5 I like a Mike Maker box of 1-5-8.

Race 6 #3 was claimed off Brown by De La Cerda in her 1st try for Maiden 50k missing by less than a length. New owners  protect her here in a MSW. 

Race 7 no one is in good form here. Pass

Race 8 Rosario/Clement on the turf always gets my attention even when #5 hasn't raced in 6 months. Shug's #6 won her last at this 1.5M distance. Clement has nother filly that's been away 5 months in #8. Javier rarely rides for Billy Mott but does so here with #7. This girl may like the added distance here.

Race 9 #2 has been away 8 months but is 2 for 2 over the GP dirt for Pletcher. #4 has banked almost 500k for trainer Jerkens & likes the 5F distance. Trainer of #8 wins @20% & Javier stays up here stretching out after winning @ 6F.

Race 10 Paco has been on #1 for all of 5 wins & is dangerous here @ 6-1. #4 has won 5 of 8 & ships in from Woodbine along with her regular jock Patrick Husbands. #5 is always heavily bet but hasn't won since last February. Love the way #9 closes for trainer DeVaux.

My best play of the day is #6 Wet Paint in the 10th @ Oaklawn. If you get a chance, check out this filly's last race.

8 & 12 were scratched from the 1st race but Jose Ortiz went gat to wire with #5 Spansive for Pletcher's first timer. #7 came at him but Jose Ortiz still had something left in the tank to pull away.

Alive in the double with 6 & 9

Javier didn't make any mistakes with #6 Jerry's Turn taking him right to the lead & never really being challenged winning by about 4. Nice to hit the early double.

5-6 Double paid $70.40

Race 4 my guy #5 scratched . No play for me.

Race 5 #7 Abaan will have to be caught & expect Mike Maker's guys 158 will catch him. The chalk is #3 & he hasn't won since July in Cali.

Great when a plan comes together..

All 3 of Maker's horses closed on the chalk with # 5 getting the win, # 8 getting 2nd & #1 running 4th with the chalk running 3rd.

Race 6 WPS #3; boxing 3-10-11

#11 is new to the Bill Mott Barn & #10 had gate issues in her 1st try & Brown takes Paco off & Irad onboard.

#10 won easily but #3 never fired.

Linda Rice & Jose Lezcano have been en fuego.

#4 Weyburn is a monster but didn't cap #1

OAK Race #6 Ngala got banged around coming from last to run 2nd. Adding Flavian Pratt for 2nd career race makes this a wheel race.

EX/DD WHEEL #6 with all. This may sound like a lot but it's only a $36 play.

#2 wouldn't give up to #6....UGHHHHH
