Forte Out of the Preakness

Just read that because he scratched for "safety reasons" Forte is now on the "vet list" meaning he can't race for 14 days. He was put on the list last Sunday.

If Pletcher had scratched Forte, he would never had been subjected to the vet list & could have run in the Preakness.

WOW!

I see a lot of them including Forte pointing to the Belmont.

That will be interesting to say the least,especially if theres a triple crown at stake

Two Phil's won't be going to the Preakness.

Perform will be a 150k supplement addition to the Preakness for Shug. It's been 10 years since McGaughey has entered one in the Preakness. It took Perform 5 tries to break his maiden.

Forte tested positive for Meloxicam in the Hopeful Stakes at Saratoga that he won last year. Repole has to give back the purse money of 165k & Pletcher has been suspended for 10 days which he has appealed. Pletcher says he didn't administer the drug & suspects the previous trainer may have. I don't know who that was.

Trainer Saffie Joseph is considering running Lord Miles in the Preakness who was forced to scratch in the Derby due to the death of two other horses trained by Joseph. Owner Peter Vesgo is pissed at Churchill for the way he & his family were treated. They charted a plane with 18 family members for the race only to find out from Joseph he wasn't allowed to race his horse. They took away his tickets & his suite & wouldn't discuss the situation with him although he had done nothing wrong.

Monmouth opens tomorrow.

4th Place Derby finisher Disarm is now headed for the Travers & won't run in the Preakness.

National Treasure ships in from Cali for Baffert who has won the Preakness 7 times. However, he is 0 for 6 with horses that did not run in the Derby.

With such a small field, finding the longshots to complete the trifecta should be a relatively inexpensive wager.
