I was capping this card last night & love racing @ Gulfstream this time of year.
#1 He Takes Charge is a Tapit colt & broke his maiden last time out. Tyler Gafflione has really become a top notch rider & trainer Mark Casse has been en fuego at the meet winning @ 24%. I think he'll be in the mix early but not late.
#2 Free Drop Billy has banked almost a half million but lost by almost 30 lenghts to Good Magic in the BC Juvenile. Not a big fan of Robby Alvarado in the irons & he has won only 1 of 23 during the meet. He may be part of the exotics & has been heavily bet in 5 of his 6 aces.
#3 Peppered shipped to Churchill in November from Woodbine & finished 12th of 14 in his last. He's been away 3 months & his speed doesn't match up with others in the race. Pass
#4 Strike Power is undefeated @ GP going 2 for 2.He beat #7 Gotta Go by almost 3 in his last & has leading jock Luis Saez back up on him again. He's fresh & a big threat to the favorite Good Magic. With his Speightstown speed, he's the one to catch.
#5 Storm Runner gets Rosario for the first time as Saez decides to stay on the one above. He just lasted at the wire to win his last. He has been racing in cheaper company & moves up here. Rosario has picked up a few mounts like this at the meet & Dale Romans trains this one for big barn Team Valor. This one goes in my exotics.

#6 Good Magic is the class of the race having won the BC Juvenile back in November @ 11-1. He woke up in that race & has banked 1.2 million as a result. Chad Brown came back with older mare, Economic Model, last weekend after I believe a 3 month layoff & will try to do the same with this one. Out of Curlin, he'll be the chalk.
#7 Gotta Go ran a good 2nd to Strike Power @ 11-1. Concerned about him bouncing off that big effort.
#8 Marconi will get plenty of action just because the connections of Javier/Pletcher/Tabor. He's been heavily bet in all 3 of his races because of the above but his Beyer speed is in the low 90's. Tempting.
#9 Machismo won his last by 11 @ 8-1 which probably surprised Looch Racing & trainer Quartarlo . This one was previously trained by Pletcher & it's rare to see him lose a quality colt. He's stretching out from 6.5 F to 1 1/16 so carrying his speed all the way is a big question. Love the More Than Ready breeding.
#10 Promises Fulfilled is another one for Dale Romans & attracts Irad Ortiz in a big jock upgrade. He'll have to get the lead from the outside post & you never know with these young colts.
The play for me is #4 Strike Power. I like that he's fresh, has raced better the longer he goes, & is proven over the track with Saez.
Ex wheel 4/all (hoping for a bomb to run 2nd) tri key 4/1568.
It's a stakes filled card, weather will be beautiful & there's money to be made. BOL to all...

The 13th race Mac Diarmida is a beauty .I've narrowed it down to 6 horses 8-7-1-4-6-12.
#8 Patterson Cross has been rock solid in his last 4. I believe Lezcano is one of the best turf riders around & Billy Mott always has them ready to run. As you mention vet, he lost to #1 Sadlers Joy by a neck but that was 11 months ago. The layoff concerns me.
#7 Bernay ran a huge race in his first time here in the USA after shipping in from France. He ran a gaining 2nd for Chad Brown & will be coming at the end.
#1Sadlers Joy has earned 1.2 million & has Beyer figures of 119, 106 & 104 in his last 3. GHe hasn't won since last August at the SPA.
#4 Muqtaser has Joe Bravo coming to town to ride this one for Kiaran. He ran 3rd to #12 Oscar Nominated back in September. He's been away 4 months but I like his chances to cash a check.
#6 Gold Shield ran 4th to Oscar Nominated in the McKnight missing by less than a length. Irad rides again for Shug here. He's only won 4 of 22 & hasn't won at GP.
#12 Oscar Nominated has earned almost 1.5 million. He ran a real stinker 2 races back & although he has beaten a couple in here, I'm going elsewhere.
I'm playing #7 Bernay.
In the Sprint I like #6 Favorable Outcome with # 4 Classic Rock (who loves GP), #9 Mr.Jordan ( who is 0-10 with 5 seconds @ GP) & #11 Rock & Fellers.
