Friday Racing

Sad day @ Gulfstream yesterday with horses stabled in standing water from a giant storm we had. Wet bedding & feed were just a couple of issues along with flooding of housing for grooms, walkers etc.  Today is cleanup day as water has receded & the track will be back in action tomorrow. Got a couple of plays at Keenland & a Peter Brant/Lisa Lewis play at Tampa Bay.

Got beat by a trainer who trains 4 horses & he recently claimed this one. Missed it.

Tampa Race 5 #6 Basking

Basking lost by a head as heavy chalk.

Keen Race 5 like that Johnny V is up on #1 Mrs. Astor who should like the added half furlong distance since she will be closing. She's coming off her maiden win as is #2 for Rosario/Clement. #6 ships in from France, attract Tyler & has a bullet workout for Walsh. Lastly, #13 gets Frankie Dettori for Shug.

Race 6 DD #5 with 2-3-7-9-11

I like #5 Inventing in this short field but in Race 7 it looks wide open to me which is rare in a 250k stakes race.

Saez had nowhere to go & had to take #5 4 wide while Tyler sat chilly on the rail waiting for it to open & when it did he blew by the field on #1 the chalk.

WOW. Rosario was steadied down the stretch & still came back on Ward's filly #3 to catch her stablemate #11 to win. Real nice ride.

Decent tri of a $112 for a buck with Ward's 2 fillies & Irad on #2.

Great Story...Rocco broke his hand riding this mare in December & comes back to win on her & the trainer Jonathan Wong couldn't get here in a race @ Turfway so he ran her here.

Glad to see Rocco win a big one.
