Just looking at the 12/1 first-time starter SWEET SUGAR BABY in Race 5 today, and it's interesting to note that she worked 3 times in a row at Finger Lakes with older 4yo barnmate CASPER JOE. That one is an unimpressive 0-for-13 maiden claimer, but CASPER JOE actually came out of those drills to run second (by less than a length) in a Finger Lakes maiden claimer on June 8. CASPER JOE was ridden in that race by Finger Lakes rider Andre Worrie, who shows up to ride SWEET SUGAR BABY today. Apparently, this is the first horse Andre Worrie has ridden at this Belmont meet, so he's making a special trip for the ride, and it seems obvious that he's been on board this horse for some workouts. Also note SWEET SUGAR BABY happens to be owned by the trainer (Jeffrey Englehart).
Bottom line, there's not much to go on here, and I'll probably pass the race. I did find it interesting though, and wanted to pass the info along just in case.
Regarding her competition, the Clement firster READY A.P. worked with THE CLUB on 5/24, and THE CLUB ended up running second (by 1.5 lengths) in her debut on 6/18. Rider Luis Saez is 1-for-1 (aboard a 5/1 shot) with Clement at the meet. Again, not much to go on here, but I would guess READY A.P. is the main threat.

Regarding READY A.P., she had recently worked 3 times in a row (including a gate drill) with an unraced 2yo barnmate named BIG INVASION. So keep that in mind for later.

BIG INVASION has been entered in Saturday's Belmont opener, and is listed at 9/2 ml odds. That being said, the race is scheduled for grass, and there's a ton of rain in the area (all races are off the turf today).
