Is Any Of Horse Racing Rigged? If So How Much and What Parts?

I am very curious about this. I have heard alot of different answers
from various people.
 
If it is rigged, who is rigging it? Owners? Trainers? Jockeys?
Combination?
 
Is it more prevalent in thoroughbreds? Harness?
Which would be easier to fix?
What have any of you heard or seen?

What did you just fall off the turnip truck?  
 
Of course it's rigged at times.   Trainers cheat all the time.   They are always injecting new drugs into horses that aren't detected by the urine tests.
 
 
Little story.   Bob Baffert got caught for juicing his horses a few years back and he is not the trainer he used to be.     Guy was winning or a contender in every major race before he got caught.
 
Since then,  it's a totally different story.     What does he care?   He made millions while he was cheating.

About your other question ,  harness racing is extremely easy to fix.    All you have to do is get your horse trapped on the rail.    Or swing him out wide early and the horse loses too much ground and has nothing left in the stretch.    Or pull on the reins and make the horse go off stride when every they feel like it.
 
You gotta be absolutley insane to bet on harness racing.

i know they give horses some juice at certain tracks

 I believe that certain trainers find drugs that are not yet being detected and use them for a while.  Scott Lake, Wayne Catalano and others. (Milkshakes were popular until they started testing for them.) When they get caught once they usually get off with a fine or at most, a 6 month suspension.  On the smaller tracks I feel like the trainers "know" which one will win and often you will see 5/2 morning lines drop to even money or 4/5 on the winner.  Everyone in the know, KNEW.  Some of the trainers don't bet but a lot of them do, it is the only way they can make a living where the purses are small.

Used to hang out at Cal Expo. Got to be friends with some of them. Would go out water skiing with them. They gave me quit a few horses. Biggest bunch of gamblers and drinkers you ever met. Back in the day is was not illegal to drink during the races. These guys would finish a race and staight to the bar for a couple shots and five minutes later back on their mount. Just crazy, after the races they love to play cards and they cheat.

Ron Hansen was the reason Casinos in Reno in South Lake Tahoe went pari-mutual (that means they are tied in to the tracks pool) used to be they would cover the bets themselves. Ronnie and his cronies wiped them out. They got wise and threw him into the ocean. Used to know a assitent trainer at the Gate. Man on man a lot of storys. I could write a book.

And what ever happened to this trainer. Was banned in a couple States and came to Gulfstream and was winning every race.
 
Like I said, could write a book. The now thing is Roids but they are trying to clean this up. Look at lengend Jack Van Berg. Won the Derby and the Preakness. Will not dope his horses and now never wins.
 
 Van Berg, the last honest trainer.

    I know trainers jockeys track officials etc. They all at one time or more have cheated for their own financial gain.
Even the cashiers can register a bet for a patron they don't like.
Bet at your own risk and never bet more than you can afford to lose.
If you know the"insiders' don't ask for favors.It can come back to haunt you.

There is cheating in racing and all kinds of sports when betting is involved. Money rules in the end. The cheaper the racing event the more likely some cheating going on. I feel there isn’t much jockey cheating (trying to lose) so that leaves drugs and medication. I take the opinion that most trainers get the horse ready as best they can, drugs or no drugs. You can analyze percentages off claims and other angles to help predict which trainers moves are best for whatever reason. Best game in the world to gamble on to me
