in an attempt to improve my game (read ROI/profits) I have been researching Lay betting. The idea of betting against a horse to win. I assume many handicappers have done this to some extent, found a weak favorite and bet others to win or a number of exotics excluding such horse whether intra race or through several races in succession.
My question is does anyone know of a reputable site through which lay bets may be made? I am interested in trying this approach and unfortunately Twinspires (the best standard online betting site in my opinion) does not offer such wagers. Any ideas? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the info. It's unfortunate that there are no US sites for lay betting, or at least none i have found so far. If anyone knows differently please let me know. Thanks!

I thought bettors did this everyday? I would call this looking for value. While you/others call it lay betting or betting against the favorite. I never heard of this nonsense. Probably just another way to separate you from your money? Like a parlay or teaser kind of thing perhaps.
I always try to take a more conservative approach and just try to pick winners rather than losers without all the what if's.
JMO and if it works for you, GL.

Thanks for the info Josbran. It was exactly what i was looking for.
And to Gambler, if you don't understand what Lay betting entails that's fine but handicapping should be an endeavor of constant discovery in an attempt to maximize one's understanding of the sport as well as profit. Lay betting can be a very useful tool especially when used against a weak favorite. Instead of attempting to figure out which other horse to bet to win or which exacta combo to make you simply have to bet against the favorite to win. And the great thing is the shorter the odds on the favorite the more you stand to make. So I wouldn't be so quick to ignore or nay say it.
