Since he is a deep closer will the dreaded 1 post affect him less ?

Lookin at Lucky did indeed come out of the 1 hole in his Derby....to me, the most dreaded post--Long with the 2-- in all of racing, especially in a 20 horse field. Lucky got pinballed 3 or 4 times in the first quarter, yet had the guts to rally up for 6th. He ran three miles that day in one of the most courageous performances I have ever seen in a Derby.
This is where the powers of Lanerie's skills will be tested. If he is able to keep Lee away for the early crunching, I think the horse has a legitimate chance at a solid close. The horse hasn't had a good ride in months......
