Can Materiality be the first unraced two year old to win the KY Derby since Apollo in 1882?

Good question. We need to see if we can find the answer. For me, the 2-year old thing lingers,

From today's edition of The Paulick Report:
Pletcher said it was “just typical baby stuff” that prevented Materiality from starting as a 2-year-old.
“Steve (Young) purchased him at the Timonium sale last year. … he’s a highly touted, highly recruited kind of horse with a big-time pedigree and good-looking. He breezed well there (at sale), Steve bought him and they decided to give him a little time at WinStar. He came to us when we first got down to Palm Beach Downs last fall and really hasn’t missed a beat since then.”

Not that Upstart and Materiality can't rest enough prior to the Derby, but I have to think that the race might have taken enough out of each to set their training schedules back a few days.....really key at this time leading up to the Big Day.
Wayyyyyy to early to make any predictions, especially with 5 preps to go, but I'm starting to get that longshot pit in my stomach.
All it will take is cheap speed to screw up the true speed and here come's Giacomo with Mine That Bird right behind him.
UGH!

Yep....key words are mid-packers, early speed. I think Ark. Derby will provide a ton of keys
