Bob Baffert still has not committed Lookin At Lucky, sixth as the Derby favorite, to the Preakness, and he told Pimlico officials Saturday that until he does, there is no need to announce a decision on whether he is replacing Garrett Gomez aboard the colt.
If Lookin At Lucky does run, Martin Garcia is expected to ride him. Gomez then would ride Dublin for D. Wayne Lukas, who in turn would move Terry Thompson onto his other Preakness starter, Northern Giant.
With Baffert watching, Lookin At Lucky galloped Saturday at Churchill for a third straight morning.

I hope lucky goes and gets an outside post-- if so, and he is over 3-1 i will play him and single in all exotics.. anyone heard is super saver is doing ok-- the more i watch the derby i think he might have burnt himself out with that incredible effort

Agreed on Baffort but I dunno about the Gomez comment. I think GG is the best driver in the country for a horse that is unlikely to develop traffic issues. Time and time again, I've watched Gomez overreact to a horse near him by pulling his horse away or back. Even yesterday at Churchill (9th race, first time Dutrow horse), he had the best horse, and won for fun, but he pulled away from a small opening to find a crease. You don't get that kind of fortune in the Derby. If you watch LAL's race, early on, the 10(?) came into him near the turn. he clearly could have pushed ahead, but he pulled back and it was the difference between sitting 12th and 18th.
Rumor was thet Calvin's agent called Baffert after SA to inquire about LAL. Not making the change then was Baffert's biggest mistake, IMO.

Don`t argue with me DJ
Kidding bruha. I think a change is needed but Garcia is a little green just like Talamo. I brought this up a few months ago that Garcia was getting all of Bafforts best horses and wondered why. Nobody had an answer but something still seems fishy of this new love affair with Baffort and Garcia.

Jeremy Plonk said it very well the other day. In these big races,. sometimes you get the more aggressive drives from guys who are looking to prove something. Very interesting race ahead in terms of jockey changes.
