I have been reading his book about the speed figures and was wondering if there are any handicappers that use them exclusively? I have one ore question as well.
When you see the Beyer Speed Par for a given race let's say it's a 96...do you include any horses that ran within five points of par or do you require them to run to the established par or better?
Thanks for your time and attention to my question!

Even Beyer says his numbers are just 1 tool to use and should not be used alone to make your betting decisions. He's loves to watch every horse run in it's previous races, and look for slight things that impacted the race but are not mentioned in the program for an advantage.
I use Pars to compare track to track, not horses to horses in a particular race.
I concentrate on the following:
1. Class
2. Earnings per race
3. Horse performances at the race distance
4. Horse performances at the particular track
5 Running lines indicating trouble or other issues
