He had a huge heart & when you see this in a racehorse it is something very special.
I didn't know he was recovering from a broken pelvis. I thought he was just being given some time off. Jim Rome always talked about him like he was his child who was getting bigger & stronger.
What a damn shame....

BTW..Jim Rome has a real nice filly running Saturday @ Los Al in R8 the Scarlet Stakes.
It's a 2 yr old Grade 1 for fillies & his is #3 Stays in Vegas. Before her October race @ Santa Anita, Rome mentioned her on his radio show & that he would be at the track. I think I mentioned it a thread back then as a heads up to everyone. She won @7-1 & alsowon her last as heavy chalk.
Her last 2 indicate she will like the additional 1/16th. Looks like a competitive race.

Thought Stays in Vegas had the race won @ 7-2 but Mike Smith found a hole inside & caught Solis asleep at the wheel IMO.
I think this filly will only get better. And she liked the additional distance today.
