10/1 ml. recency (fitness), breeding, trainer. taking a swing for the fences here compact field sprinting on the green tossing the debut for this bum he was just a 2YO and obviously not ready and that was on dirt. ice cube on the tote and ran up the track ("broke out st, faltered"). skipper is 23% off a 180+ layoff and 15% with maidens in their second spin. fella has a nice set of six solid drills coming in with five of them at 5/8ths and the last one on the green. has no sibs dam was 2/3 on the lawn high fig 82. every other runner has been a sizzle and fizzle at least once playing this as contested up front if this guy can run at all maybe he can hang around in the back and mow them down late. 0.75 units.

8/1 ml. late speed, surface, distance, pattern. having some trouble projecting how this pace will look like and who will be up front but thinking there is potential for two or three horses to get the tempo modestly legit but certainly not scorching. looking for this guy to settle near the back and make one big move late. been gone a long time it was last August he ran a 98 on this same course and just missed with legit traffic late in the lane. trainer is 26% first time with a new horse and 17% off a 180+ layoff. horse has been working steadily down at Keeneland and at the Spa getting ready to come back to the races and appears fit and ready. last two times off a good sized break the horse fired and was running well late. like this 8F for him. decent fellas in here tough race could be a prep for a G2/G1 mile on the lawn later in the summah. only 9 spins total first time out as a 5YO could still improve modestly so we will find out. 1.00 units.

I always take a shot just for the hell of it. But the 1st and 2nd horse were around 30-1 odds, the 3rd horse was the favorite and the 4th horse was in the 24-1 odds.
