Sat Feb 27 GP Fountain of Youth Day all races and Oaklawn Stakes
Had the day off yesterday so I decided cap and play today. $20 on each to Win. Good luck all.
GP
Race 1 - #4 Temper Mint Twist 5-1ml She improved in 2 lifetime start to get 3 and comes off 2 bullet works. Field loaded with talented firsters that may gun early and allow this one to get them late.
Race 2- #2 Beau Luminarie 4-1 ml Best bet of the day at GP. Last time this gelding raced this same trip was last May and that race wins this one easy. Been running good on turf and some good recent works also. Should love this dirt mile today and get the dream set up stalking and pouncing the vulnerable fav.
Race 3- #1 Spanish Love Affair 2-1ml just has too much class for this field but will be a short price.
Race 4- #1 Temple 3-1ml another ml short price but figures to get these late on the cutback from a mile and a half. Maker has three works into him since last race and he loves this turf course.
Race 5- #8 Blitz to Win 9/2ml Ran late at 6 furlongs in debut and was bet in that race. This NY bred gelding should like the mile and with the many top trainers having horses in here may get over 6-1
Race 6- #5 Arzak 5-1ml has the look of a special turf 3yr old. Should be close to the front and have no excuses if he is the type horse I believe he is. 575k purchase draws Irad Ortiz so word may be out
Race 7- #1 Payne 8-1 ml has been off since a Grade 3 try last June but if he comes back right then he can win with his past dirt mile performances. Not a tough comeback spot for this real racehorse.
Race 8- #5 Eons 4-1ml This classy turf router disappointed last year at 0-4 albeit against much tougher comp. Went to Tampa this year to make some money but couldn’t get up and settled for 2 twice. This race is loaded with pace types and he draws Irad who knows how to save ground and get em late
Race 9- Fearless 9/2ml Comes back off layoff and all he has to do is repeat his GP performance 1 year ago with Irad aboard again. This gelding obviously has had some ailments but is super-fast when right.

Race 10- #3 Malibu Mambo 8-1ml raced sneaky well in his lone GP start last out and should not be bet much. Wide open and he should get a stalking inside trip and hopefully get some room to pounce late
Race 11- #6 Zofelle 7/2ml in what appears to be a two horse race with #2 Got Stormy. Got Stormy took awhile to get going last year and isn’t as good as she once was and this one has the recency on her.
Race 12- #7 Competitive Speed 15-1ml BOMB on the day!! This 3 yr old filly disappointed at 4-1 in the slowly run local prep for this Grade II today and that should get her over 20-1 off odds today. Before last out she was improving in each start- toss that one out she would be around 6-1 today. The pace should be fast for this mile and she can get a piece late and may even win if they go too fast. Worth a gamble
Race 13- #4 Tuned 6-1 ml This regally bred has had rough starts in last two against similar competition and gets to stretch out today which will suit her just fine. Her Garde 1 winning mom was awesome in her 5 yr old season and maybe this one today responds to the added ground. She comes running every race—is she ready for the big time?
Race 14- The Fountain of Youth Stakes Grade II #10 Papetu 15-1ml raced ok at 5-1 off odds in the Holy Bull and that performance will get him dismissed today at the windows. He wasn’t going to win that day so I don’t think we saw his best late. I look for a tactics change for him today and hope he presses up front early and maybe get first run on the closers. He likes to stalk and pounce wide so post will help
Oaklawn
Race 7- The Razorback Handicap #3 Mailman Money 10-1ml this talented 4yr old ready for 2021 debut and loves a wet track and its supposed to rain at OP today. Will be up front early and favs are closers
Race 8- Spring Fever Stakes #6 Aint no Elmers 8-1 ml needed last race as she was a little short late. Cuts back and should be a nice price and there is plenty of gas to set her up
Race 10 - The Southwest Stakes #4 Jackie’s Warrior 8/5ml faltered as he couldn’t get the early lead in the BC Juvenile last year but will be in front today. Oaklawn plays very kind to lone pace types and this one looks like lone pace. The #1 will get hammered and you may get 5/2 and that’s a great bet
