Saturday 2/22 @ Gulfstream

I may have wasted time capping this card because we have rain & high winds expected throughout the day tomorrow.

There's a good chance we'll be off the turf which caused me to spend a little more time on the MTO's entered.

R2 # 8 Beast of Wildwood broke his maiden last time out by 5. ML 6-1

R4 #11 Casino Grande is a first timer for Calumet with nice works.

R6 #13 Devoted Kitten won his last as the favorite. ML is 6-1. 

R7 #6 Holy Emperor didn't show much first time out but Javier stays aboard. ML is 4-1. # 11 Gimme So Mo has johnny V/Pletcher.

There are a few more but I'm calling it a night.

As expected there are a number of scratches most notably for me #5 Kroy in Race 10. 

Johnny V also lost a couple of mounts early in the card but still gets to ride Frank's Rockette for Mott in the feature.

Sunny & windy now  ut the rain will be coming offshore a little after post time.

I'll have a couple of plays but not like what I had planned. I'll be playing mostly college basketball today.

BTW..Baffert shipped in Morning Snow from Cali to race @ Oaklawn. in the 8th. Won his last by 8.

My girl Georgina Baxter is loaded for bear in Tampa today. She has 4 entered including 10 year old Pay Any Price who is one of my favorites in her barn.   

In the 3rd Pletcher has a first timer named Liam's Point currently @ 2-5.

He has another firster in #7 Ellis Island who is @ 8-1 but the Pletcher exacta pays only 12 bucks if it runs 4-7 & $11 if it finishes 7-4. That's pretty odd.

I'm going to play the #7 to win @8-1.  

#4 was a leg weary winner @ 3-5; #7 ran a closing 3rd.

Javier @ 5-1 on a 1.8 million dollar colt out of Curlin for Pletcher.... easy money with some decent DD payoffs

Just noticed I didn't post the Javier/Pletcher/Curlin play...my bad.

Race 5 #3 likes this mile distance & so does #4. It's a small field of 7. I'm trowing in #1 for Peter Walder who has been ice cold at the meet.

I'm boxing 3-4-1.

Wow..#4 won easily. #1 closed for 3rd but couldn't catch #6 for 2nd. That exacta paid a beautiful $92 .

I'll take the nice $80 double.

In Race 6 my horse #7 Let's Go Mick got scratched with 5 others.

Not worth trying to figure this one out now. Pass 

Glad I stayed away from the 6th race. #2 @ 14-1 won by a mile with #8 completing a $300 exacta.

Race 7 is a good one & the rain is staying away so far. This race stays on he turf.

#1 had traffic issues in his last; #4 shortens up after finishing 3rd in his last; #9 is a first timer for Chad Brown. 

Boxing 1-4-9-10; DD 1-4-9-10 with 2-3-7

At Tampa Pletcher had a 4 yr old colt win his 2nd in a row on the turf named Serve the King. Malice. You may want to put him in your barn for the future. He looks like he'll enjoy more than a mile as well.  

Sure enough my girl wins @ Tampa on #6 Faction Cat paying $11.40.

She has one more today in race 8 in #14 R Happy Ending ML 6-1.

I didn't have a prayer @ GP Race 7

Race 10 @ GP boxing 8-10-11

Damn..my girl got beat for 2nd @ 14-1 & closing on the winner.

WOW...Billy Mott beats the chalk #10 with a great ride by Zayas on #4 @ 25-1.

That was a fun race to watch.

Frank's Rockette won impressively as expected completing a nice double for Bill Mott.

In the finale @ GP I'm boxing 3-4-5-10.

Well I enjoyed myself.....

Cold Heinekens, playing the ponies, watching college basketball & golf from Mexico.
