Saturday At The SPA

Rolling $1 doubles of the Ortiz brothers + Rosario is a $69 play. I threw in Gamine & Tiz the Law.

No play other than the doubles in the first 2 races.

Barclay Tagg & Jose Ortiz won the opener on #3. 

Alive in the double with #3 Shalako. Maybe you'll remember this one winning on opening weekend when we cashed for $27.80 with Manny Franco closing to win by a neck. Manny moves to the chalk in #1 but there's no complaint here with Irad getting onboard with #3.

Manny wins on #1 breaking up my rolling double which starts over again in R3 with 39/59.

Race 3 #3 makes the dirt to turf move for trainer Englehart who is willing at a chilly !0% rate. #4 broke her maiden here last year & gets Manny Franco. I like that Javier stays on #8 who has moved from the Chad Brown barn to sneaky good Brisset barn. #13 has a terrible post but has enough speed to make that move & has been well bet in 4 of her 5 races. #12 Rosario/Clement combo has been winning everything with Clement @31% & Rosario @28%. In her last, she wanted to run but Rosario had a big hold on her which maybe she didn't like.

Nope on #8 but alive with the 59 in the double with #3 winning with Irad in the 3rd. Also have the 59 with 35 in the 5th.

4 scratches in the 4th. #10 has been part of the super in his last 11 races, So he has to be in the exotic wager.

The rolling double 3-5 hit for $13.70 & alive in Race 5 with 1-2-6. Interestingly the 5-9 exacta (which was the double play) paid $26. If the 9 had won that double would have been nice.

Race 5 #1 is a firster for my nemesis with a bullet workout. The dam American Queen has 6 winners in 6 starters. #2 raced greenly first time out for red hot trainer Handal. #3 firster for Ruddy Rod. #4 not interested. #5 was the beaten fav in her only start. #6 firster for Brown/Javier. #7 firster for Pletcher.

SPA R6 rolling doubles 126 with 46

Race 6 has some real nice breeding here with a bunch of firsters. #3 an American Pharoah has 2 nice bullet workouts for Billy Mott. Early money is on #1 for Chad Brown/Irad. #10 has red hot trainer Mike Maker with Tyler who are 2 for 4 at the meet. Assman has another firster in #4. #6 trainer Al Stall wins @21% with firsters.

Race 7 is the Ballerina stakes & here's a factoid for ya..Shug has won this race more than any other trainer & he has #6 Pink Sands with Irad up Shug is winning @ 29% with a nice 14-4-2-3 meet. There's another in here that I know at least sundance & Stu will remember in #3 Victim of Love. I posted this winner last time out that paid $54 for trainer Beatie. He was in tough them & is again & I think will like the added half furlong. He won his last @ Big Sandy & the trainer thinks enough of this one to send him to the SPA. One more factoid on this race that I read somewhere but haven't verified...#7 Come Dancing (who #3 beat last time out) is an amazing 4 for 4 when being loaded into the gate last as will happen today.

That's a shitload to share on a race but wanted to put it out there way before the race goes off. 

Mott has this one ready @7-1 & caught #1 trying to go gate to wire with Irad. Rolling doubles start over but I got the 3-1 exacta paying $66.

Rolling doubles in the 7th 46 with 147.

R7 #4 is the chalk wining 7 of 16 & 1.5 mil. Problem is she hasn't won outside of Cali. #5 made her money in Mexico winning 9 of 11 & she ships in from FLA. But for me...

I have to put a WP play in for #3 just because she helped fill the till in the past. I can't go against theh trainer that has his horses ready for this race over his career & gets the leading jockey. But how can you against #7 loading last into the gate. I hope that factoid isn't  bullshit because I tried to verify it but really couldn't be sure. I figure that's such an obscure observation it must be true.

In race 8 I think Tyler will try to steal the race with #2. There are a couple of closers in 4 6 & 7.

That makes me down 50 bucks but live in the next with 2468.

The 10 cent super in the Gamine race 5-5-1-2 payed $1.59.

It makes my double of 5 bucks look like a windfall!
