Hoping races stay on the turf but it doesn't look good.
Race 1 has a field of 6 first time starters with some real nice breeding. It's no surprise that #1 is the 4/5 chalk for Irad/Pletcher.
Race 2 has 3 (467) recently claimed running their first time for their new trainers. They will have to catch #1 who failed at this distance last time out. Tricky Dick Dutrow just missed by a length with #2 after a bad start. Mike Maker tries for the 3rd time with his claim off Tom Amoss & goes with Manny. #5 goes for 2 in a row for new trainer Linda Rice. #6 Irad/Jacobson win at over 40%. #7 was claimed by Rudy Rod for 20k in his last & attracts Tyler.
Race 3 has a field of 11 but it's on the turf & we can expect scratches if it comes off the grass. Won't waste time talking about entrants that might scratch/
Race 4 is a joke with Chad Brown training 4 of the 5 entered including 2/5 shot In Italian.
Race 5 has a field of 8 including an entry for Linda Rice who has been en fuego. #2 has won 3 of 10 & gets Irad. #3 has been away for 7 months but has a nice 9-2-3-0 record including a winner with Saez last year at the SPA . #4 I always give trainer Chad Summers horses a look but this guy has 2 dull race in a row. #5 is 1 for 14 with 6 .seconds for Jorge Abreu. #6 in 2 races back he won by 16 lengths but came up empty in his lst. Javier hops up. #7 been away 9 months but is now trained by Chad Brown not Saffie Joseph. #8 has been ITM 3 for 3 & been right there for Dr. Kimmel.

Race 8 is a MSW going 7F. #1 is a firster but I like the Johnny V/Henning combo who has won 2 in a row together. #2 was never close in his only try. #3 was 2nd in her last. #4 was also never clos in her only try. #5 is 0-4; #6 is a 1st timer. #7 is 0-for 8 but has been knocking on the door with a 8-0-2-2 record running 2nd in her last 2. #8 has run 3rd in 3 of 4 races. #9 is a firster got Hat Man Kelly Breen attracting Irad. #10 & #11 have both run 2nd in their last races.
Race 9 is on the turf.
Race 10 is a nice 6F stake attracting 10 runners. #1 thru #3 have won their only try & they are all going longer here. #3 ships in from Gulfstream & jock Edgar Zayas comes to the SPA to ride this one. He won going 4.5F but after watching the replay it wasn't very impressive & he didn't beat much. But I'm still intrigued y the decision to ship from a small barn. #4 lost to #9 by 10 lengths which isn't as bad as it sounds if you watch the replay. #5 won his only try going 2f. Yes, 2F. #6 won his last going away @ 4.5F in 52:3. He's moving up but so are others. #7 won his only try @ Woodbine. Mary Jane comes off & Saez gets up. ##8 won his only try by a closing neck @ 4.5 F & picks up Javier. Problem is it tool him 54:1 to go that distance. #9 won the Tremont by 9 lengths & just took over in the 5.5F race. He could have won by 15 easily for Asmussen. #10 won his only try in the slop for D.Wayne & surprisingly Tyler gets the mount.
Race 11 is on the turf.
Let's hope it comes up dry tomorrow.

#1 comes over from France where she ran 2nd in her only try. @2 has been dull in her only 2 tries; #3 is a first timer; #4 is from dangerous barn & tries the turf with Julian; #5 is a beaten favorite in her last 2 for Pletcher; #6 1st timer out of Tapit for Chad Brown/Irad; #7 was a well bet closing 2nd @ Delaware & attracts Johnny V; #8 had a lousy break & was wide in her only try for Mott; #9 has been away 8 months but the Kitten's Joy/Prat/Brown makes this a play; #10 has been right there in both her tries; #11 is 0 for 7 but did run 2nd in her last.

Race 3 glad to see we are still on the turf here.

Race 6 something went wrong with #1 her lst where she may have been held at the gate. Prior to that she ran 2 good 2nds. #2 just missed in her last. #5 likes the distance; #10 I like the Rosario/Clement on the turf angle.

Race 7 Wesley Ward trains #1 & he probably gets a horse ready to break from the gate better than anyone else. He also trains #2 who has been dull in his last 2. # you have the Irad/Jacobson combo winning @ 40%; #4 is Rosario/Clement/Turf again; #5 shortens up & shows early speed; #6 usually cashes a check with a 14-2-4-3 record; #7 she's 7 hears old & has won 11 of 40.
Hopefully the 2 Ward fillies don't burn up each other on the lead setting it up for Rosario to close off the pace with #4.
