After 171 years, Freehold Raceway in Jersey will be closing today. One of the tote tellers started working there when he was 17 & is now 90. They raced only in the day because they didn't have lights. Only when there twice in my life & the track was about as basic as they come. No frills, no giant tote board...very basic. Their biggest change in recent years was the addition of self service kiosks.

The regulars will have to find somewhere else to hang out during the day.

Racing has been canceled @ Oaklawn due to lightning & rain.
