Take a look at #6 Richie's Sweetheart. He wins @ 50%, loves the distance & won his last over the track at the same 5F distance on the grass. ML is 5-1 & I think we'll get it.
Money will fall on #2 Power Alert for leading jock Gallardo (winning @ 33%) & trainer Bryan Lynch. ML is 5-2 but this guy has been away since July.
Was at GP today & during the week I hang out near the walking ring. It's a great spot to see the horses & watch the interaction between jock, trainer & owner. Weekends I move to the clubhouse because the crowds are larger & the tellers in the clubhouse are faster & they get your rhythm quickly when calling out bets. Anyway, I realized that I haven't seen trainer Wayne Catalano or owner Frank Calabrese at the meet yet. They sat together in this area & Catalano would leave to saddle their entries & they would meet again in the walking ring right before the race. Calabrese is famous for slipping a winning jock a win bet in the winner's circle.
Didn't realize Catalano was really sick last year with pneumonia, lost the Ramseys' & Calabrese as customers but is back training @ Fairgrounds with a few horses from Eclipse as well as Gary & Mary West. When Calder closed, Calabrese took his stock out of Florida but I don't know where he is. Does anybody know?
