harness action picking up ... sept a very strong month...
looking at a few stars from friday and sat.
freehold,... not what it once was.. under way recently.. on friday.. jim marohn jr. drove 3 winners.. including a 18/1 to start the day and his double in races 1-2 was worth 136...
harrahs philly.. friday... anthony morgan won 3x ,the 3rd,4th and 5th.. his pick3 paid 734..
tioga downs ... mike merton got a triple including the 8/1 and 19/1 that completed the late double.. worth 323 ..
yonkers... george brennan got 4, jason bartlett got 3 friday..
sat... freehold had joe bongiorno win 4 x, jim marohn jr won 3 more for 2nd straight day..
poconos.. eric carlson got a 3 bagger and jim marohn left nj to win 3 more on sat evening here ,2/1,5/1, and 15/1 .. not a bad days work. a very playable rider wherever he shows up...
more sat... at yonkers eric goodell drove 3 winners
at scioto in ohio... chris page and jeremy smith got 3 each, smith won on 18/1 and a 29/1...
mohawk..... syl fillion brought the value 3x , winning with 20/1, 7/1 and a 58/1 wow... yannick gingrass won twice...
batavia downs... ray fisher jr got a triple, one paid 53..
tioga downs ..mike simons won 3
vernon downs... john macdonald won 4x, and chris lems got a triple..
meadows... dave palone won 4x, yanick gingrass and tim tetrick both won a pair..
on sunday ..its tioga downs at 130 est , 3 stakes in races 7,8,9 will be worth 200k each.. last sunday at tioga aug 21 ,we had a bridge problem in race 5 .. very nice win ,place ,show payouts as entry ran out of money...
sept is special for harness... end of week stakes begin everywhere.. none better than sat sept 3.. yonkers got two of the sports jewels, the 500k messenger and the 500k yonkers trot..
also sat its huge night at mohawk.. 685k canadian pacing derby and 685k metro pace to name a few on a loaded card.. northfield park ,near akron ohio also sending the money with 8 ohio sire stakes, all worth 250k.. .. delaware ohio got little brown jug week later in sept. stakes everywhere.. pa. ny. ohio, ind.. canada. harness lovers should enjoy...
