oaklawn park began its 57 day meet friday.. with a new voice vic stauffer who i always enjoyed. some very nice purses and some very nice 3 yr old md sp weights and stakes... after 2 days its been value.. 12 of the 18 races run have produced double digit winners. a couple jock-trainer combos to watch robertino diodoro with geovanni franco 5-2-0-1 at the meet a 48 % clip the last 68 starters 68-33-6-8 the past year.. 21 -11-3-4 the last 90 days.. they are together 3x today race2 #9, race4 #2 and race 8 #1 another to maybe watch ramon vazquez and trainer frederico villafranco .. last 90 days 78- 31-13-8 and already 10-3-3-0 at this meet. race 8 today has last yrs 19th place kty derby finisher whitmore who came back running at a sprint.. at aqueduct winning sharp off that layoff.... jose oriz rides him for the first time today.. he tangles a salty group of elder horses as the fav.. ortiz also rides a 3yr old for moquett in the 9th a md sp wgt with older horses.. dupree .. could be a prep for a stake later.. alex canchari a pretty reliable rider has struggled lately winning only 5 of his last 107 mounts.. he rides races 1 thru 7 today. perhaps he snaps out of it soon. my late pick 4 in races 6-9 2,3,5,10/ 2,7,10,11 / 1,3,7 / 3,8 ..
