- Most people on here are already well aware that for the most part betting on a derby future is a sucker bet.
- I came close in this pool 2 that is closing this evening.The problem I had was betting on a horse that, while you think he is on the Derby trail, has a proven track record, preferably on dirt and around 2 turns and has some distance on sire or Dam side, is all but bet down to where the return on the investment is not very good.The odds on some of these make it seem as though we are 2 weeks away as opposed to 2 months.Really,to catch lightening in a bottle you need to focus on Pool 1 back in November. Maybe then a horse like Tiz the Law would be 40-1 back then. Maybe I need to get an on line account. Get with the times you know
- I could not even find a horse like Max player listed and wagering was limited to maybe 25 horses with a 5/2 bet on the field. 13-1 on Maxfield when his odds entering the gate would be half that at least? No thanks!
