Around this time last year trainer Tim Hamm shipped a filly in from Gulfstream to the SPA named Dayoutoftheoffice & I mentioned in a thread that he must have really liked this girl. On July 16, 2021 she went on to win the Schuylerville by 6 lengths paying $41.60 with a $278 exacta & I think a few of us cashed tickets. Great memories....
Now tomorrow Tim Hamm has another filly going in the finale Race 10 @ Saratoga. She's ships in from Belterra in Cincy (basically from Kentucky) where her last race was a 2nd @ Churchill in a 50k Claimer. The PP's say she staggered out of the gate with James Graham but I've watched the replay 3 times & didn't see it & don't have a video of them breaking from the gate. However, I did see her brush #4 down the stretch where she race very greenly. She finished well a length & half behind the winner in 58:57 going 5F.
I think Hamm liked what he saw @ Churchill & has her in a MSW tomorrow where she can't be claimed from him. She's coming from post #1 with Jose Ortiz up & can't get caught up in a speed duel with his brother Irad on # 5 from the Wesley Ward barn & who excels in these sprint races but this is her 1st try.
She going a half furlong longer tomorrow & does have that one race under her belt. ML is 10-1 & I think she has a chance to cash a check.

I'm playing a P4 with the #1 in the 10th on my card. As long as Jose keeps the end game in mind and does not get into a brother vs. brother battle, I like the selection even more now.
Good Fortune to us!

I'm a big fan of owner Peter Brant & he has a 1st timer going in Race 1 #2 Frat Pack. His works were OK at Monmouth, so why not run him there? Instead, it was decided to race him at the SPA where the completion is stiffer, I think the 105k purse may have had something to do with the decision.
ML was 2-1 & he's currently 6-1. He'll be an across the board play if he stays at that #.

Saez goes gate to wire for the win. She was a little leg weary going wide down the stretch but Luis had enough in the tank. A closing #8 completes a real nice $148 exacta.
Paid $10.40/$7.70/$4.80.
Rosario on the chalk running out of the money improved the WPS prices.

The finale was taken off the turf which was fine with me & also happy to see Tell Me When biggest threat #4 scratch. Trainer Hamm added blinders & the jock upgrade to Jose Ortiz was another big plus. Unfortunately, she got bet down from 10-1 to 7/2.
She had the race won until the #6 blew by her.
Tell Me When finished 2nd paying $4.70/$3.80.
