Some early thoughts...

I'll be noting any suspicions drops in class to the best of my ability. Who's looking to increase/decrease their barns kind of angle..

I'm planning to see scratches due to the weather but not out of the stakes.

I'm watching to see which jockeys are picking up Luis Saez's mounts. I know Prat was named on Mage.

I'm giving #7 Scotland a long look. He's got an impressive bullet going 4F in 47:3. Has only raced 4 times winning 3 with increased speed figures in each race. Billy Mott wins another big race. Probably a small across the board for me there.

The capping aspects are fun to predict especially on a day when you're hot. The adrenaline rush is outstanding. I've been watching 1st time geldings & what has surprised me is how many get gelded after winning the race. I mean ..why screw with a good thing, right. Anyway it appears to me that they run well after being gelded. I don't have data to back that out but keep an eye on it. In Race 4 #4 Monday Mourning QB is a 1st time gelding.  In Race 8 so is #8 Detroit City. Both are 20-1.

Got a nice 3 PM South Florida buzz. Life is good.

If you've never seen Elite Power race, he'll be in Race 7. He makes one big move gobbling up the competition. He can't let Tyler with Gunite walk the dog & steal it.

In Race 10 it's great to see Shug show loyalty staying with jockey Luca Panici on #3 Maryquitecontrary. He took over trainer duties in April for this Gulfstream based filly & Luca has been up for all of her 6 wins in 9 tries But she'll be chasing Echo Zulu in the race.

We all have trainers we don't play. Mine are Tom Albertrani & Kenny McPeek. How about you??

#6 Nobel has won 3 of 6 in England & is now trained by Brendan Walsh & Tyler rides. ML is 7/2

#8 Cross Border is 9 year old for Mike Maker . I'm surprised Maker's only winning @10%.

I like the entry here especially if it's off the turf.

In Race 1 South Florida based trainer Antonio Sano is having a nice meet with a 6-3-`1-0 record & he has #3 Secret Lover here. He was dead on the tote @34-1 in his only try when finishing 4th but was clobbered at the gate & steadied during the race while making up 10 lengths. Interesting the ML here is 5-1.

McPeek has 2 going in #1 & #8 who is the 2-1 chalk.

#3 Secret lover has been bet down to 2-1. Someone is expecting him to run big. #6 may like the added distance.

Looked to me like Irad intimidated McPeek's #8 just a little bit. Secret Lover ran 3rd with 71k on him to win. McCarthy never really had him in position to fire IMO.

Got some Stable Plays @ Colonial that I'll post. Got company coming over for the ND/NAVY game & will be in and out of the thread after 2 pm.

$73Irad wins on #4 @6-1 & Linda Rice wins again. And MTO #14 ran a big race. Gotta give the MTO's that got in today a look. Irad DD pays $73

In Race 3 #7 Mighty Atlas goes for the 2nd time off the claim by Mike Maker. He got pinched in his last back to last & Franco closed to get 2nd @24-1. Tyler picks up the Saez mount on #3 Money Supply who won his last & was claimed off Chad Brown moves up to 50k. #4 Mistical Curlin is a disappointing 1 for 14. #5 Skylander comes out for a small barn/trainer but Javier stays on after getting bumped around down the stretch in his last. #2 St. Elmo ships in from Indiana for Mike McCarthy who wins @21% wit these types & attracts Johnny V.

Race 7 #3 Get the Candy & #4 Moor Strength

Race 4 #7 Milton the Monster has been popular in the claim box getting claimed 4 times already this year. Trainer Michelle Nevin is one of my "go to trainers" but she's 0 fo15 at the meet. Diodoro is also 0-17 has #8 Sky and Sand. #3 Osbourne has trainer Ron Moquette is 0 for 16. #9 Bold Journey has a nice bullet going 4F in 47. #10 Champions Dream is back in the Danny Gargan barn but has been dull in her last 2 & has been away 5 months.

Rosario was getting to #1 but had to settle for 2nd on #9.

Race 5 has the 2 class droppers in #6 & #8. The entry follows the adage "why race 2 when 1 will do" with the scratch of 1A. The 1st time gelding # 5 The Reds scratched. #2 Catch the Party will be closing with Irad for Maker along with Rosario on #7 for Gargan. Irad is 3 for 3 on #2

Race 6 big jock change to Irad on Repole's filly #3. 7 of the 10 starters are first timers.  Anyone's guess in this one.

I'll just watch & enjoy Elite Power & Gunite in Race 7

Race 8 Irad gets #13 Souper Quest out of the gate, goes for the lead & cashes.

This colt got into the race as a MTO (Main Track Only) 

The MTO #13 got bet down to Even money & won for fun. Gotta check out the MTO's closely.

Race 9 has colts with tons of heart. I like Prat up on #3 Verifying for Brad Cox who is winning @23%. Baffert has training duties back for #4 Fort Bragg. #5 New York Thunder is facing much better competition but hasn't done anything wrong yet. Baffert also as #6 Arabian Lion in fantastic shape. HMMMM
