Travers Day Price Plays

Super excited about tomorrow and hitting OTB for the big day. Capping 8 tracks but I am done with Saratoga and here are my price plays and will be using all these in exotics and mutli race wagers also. Need to catch a few of these for some big scores.

Race 1-  #6 Aveenu Malcainu 15-1ml is an intriguing runner. Is a decent dirt horse but not quite good enough to win allowance/non graded stakes so tried grass two back and he beat a decent field at 7 furlongs. Cut back to 5.5 last out on turf and didn’t have any punch to get up in a fast race. Stretches out to mile for turf start number 3 and looks to have a big shot near the lead early. Chad Brown has a coupled entry that will be odds on so my horse shouldn’t be bet much.

Race 2- #8 Icecap 12-1ml draws the perfect outside spot and has been training well for the potent Winchell/Asmussen combo. Wide open race so trying a firster and maybe he is the goods.

Race 3- #11 Lady Rosalie 15-1ml is an improving turf filly and could surprise in this wide-open maiden turf route. Geroux rides for Brisset who has won 27% this meet

Race 4- #2 Dark N Cloudy 20-1ml– fits on numbers and may get a perfect rail stalking trip and tip out late for the money. He is a game colt and has a win at the 6.5 furlong distance.

Race 5- Grade 1 Forego  #4 Killybegs Captain 15-1ml is a very consistent sprinter. Isn’t as good as the top 2 choices in this one but those two may hook up early all the way around based on the draw. Killy could sit the absolute perfect trip sitting a close third and just maybe nab one of them at 7 furlongs

Race 6- Grade 1 Ballerina  #5 Mia Mischief 5-1ml stretches to to her best distance and will be laying a perfect trip in here with tons of pace in here. Toga isn’t her best track but she is a very accomplished sprinter for a 4yr old and should eclipse 1mill in earnings after this race. 

Race 7- Grade 1 Allen Jerkins  #6 Mind Control 15-1ml is my best bet!! Coming off two rough trips and now gets overlooked in a field he can easily beat with a clean trip. I feel the #1 odds on fav is very vulnerable as he will be tested early by real pace types. Don’t think we will get 15-1 but anything close is a gift. Banging a large DD 6/4

Race 8- Grade II Ballston Spa  #4 Significant Form 6-1ml   She has been my favorite turf filly for the last few years so granted this is bet with my heart also. But she is very classy and this field doesn’t have stand out GII types. She stretches back out after two turf sprints to start 2019 and have a feeling she blows the doors off this group with a career top performance as 4yr old.   

Race 9- Grade 1 Personal Ensign  #6 Golden Award 8-1ml has rounded into a real race mare this year. Should get first run stalking any pace that shows early but she may set is also. Gets the trip she wants and I am trusting she is ready off the big effort she showed in mid July.

Race 10- Grade 1 Sword Dancer   #4 Channel Cat 5-1ml should get a nice trip up front and I like pace types at marathon distances as its hard for horses to close late running so far. He is 1-1 at the distance and career best race came at Toga last out. This 4 yr old looks primed for another. 

Race 11 Grade 1 Travers  #9 Looking at Bikinis 10-1ml is the lightly raced new shooter I want in this one. Raced poorly last out in the mud in the Curlin but was the fav and will now be overlooked but that’s the time to play him and should be forwardly placed and he is from Lookin at Lucky out of a Bernardini mare so not worried about distance. 

Race 12 #3 Alien Season 8-1ml comes back to the races for Wesley Ward and fired a bullet last out. This race has about 6 horses in here that wouldn’t surprise me so I am hoping this one is primed for a big run. Think he may be sitting towards the front early and could pounce late for it all.

Race 13- #8 Kelleycanrun 20-1ml tries turf for the first time after two ok dirt races against msw fillys. Bred for turf on the bottom so Barclay giving her a shot off two good turf works. Like the price and upside in a wide open race

  that was a day   $20 straight DD pays 2,000     hit .50 pk 4 and pk 5 with less than $200 wagered into both combined!   i love mind control and significant form for life!!!
