The Jerome on January 1 and The Sham on January 13 with the Smarty Jones on Jan. 15 and Lecomte on the 20th. I am ready for Triple Crown action!

The first of the 2018 Derby preps, The Jerome, was postponed today due to cold weather. No word on their website or drf.com when it will be rescheduled.

The usually competitive Sham (G-III, $100,000) is on Saturday, January 6, at Santa Anita. No word yet on those competing in the race, but with a pretty good crop of 3-year olds headquartered in California, the field should be a solid one.

According to drf.com this morning, because of the bad weather in NY, The Jerome will not be run until January 11 at the earliest. Officials have yet to determine a final race date.
