Anyone wishing to offer any input - greatly appreciated - contest allows 1 horse per race to Win or Place. Hope they run - we'll see. Everyone stay healthy!!!
Rebel Stakes..the track looks wet today & it looks the same for tomorrow which may cause a scratch or two. Here what I see..
#1 Naddal ships in from Cali for Baffert & Rosario will ride this colt out of Blame. He's 2-2 & will be going a little longer in this race.
#2 Excession is in a tough spot here having won only 1 of 8 races. He's one of three entered here by Asmussen.
#3 Basin hasn't raced since September at Saratoga. He has won 2 of 3 and gets Castellano to pick up this ride from Irad Ortiz which surprises me. Looks like Irad is off his mounts tomorrow. This is the 2nd of 3 Asmussen entries.
#4 Silver Prospector is a nice looking roan for Asmussen with a interesting 8-3-0-2 record. His closing style makes him dangerous with Asmussen's go to jock Ricardo Santana.
#5 No Parole is undefeated going 3 for 3 with tons of speed but will be going longer in this race. Interesting that regular jockey James Graham will be racing at Fairgrounds so trainer Amoss puts Joe Talamo up for his biggest owner Maggi Moss. They will have to catch No Parole.
#6 Three Techniques has a nice 5-2-3-0 record and comes from a dangerous barn in Jeremiah Engelhart. Luis Saez gets the mount. He got a lousy break from the gate in his last but still got a closing 2nd.
#7 Coach Bahe broke his maiden last time out, is moving up in company and will have a tough time against this competition.
#8 American Theorem ships in from Cali with his 2-1-1 record, He ran a distant 2nd to Eight Rings in his last & I love the American Pharoah breeding.

Rebel Stakes is a race I would not be wagering on but to help out I would like to give some advice I have learned over time before my money goes down on a race. This pertains to #1 Nadal, " Never wager on a horse who is the betting favourite doing something for the 1st time". Never ran 2 turns in competition and changing his head gear to boot!! I think the 6 horse would get my money in your tourney. Good luck going forward!!
