Hit the first 3, was alive to the 4,5,9 for payouts of 36k to the 9, 96k to the 4 and 8.5k to the 5.
The 5 had a horrible horrible trip was absolutely loaded with no where to go. Terrible ride by Lucky Charm.
When the 4 came around at the top of the stretch and looked like he might go right on by, I have to admit my heart skipped a beat.
All this, and I didn't have a dime to win on the #9 in the Lexington. Nor did I bet the Pick 3 for races 7-8-9 that paid 21k for $2.
In the Lexington, the #9 figured right in on the sheets. His last 2 synthetic races were a 10 and 11 at the distance which put him right in the mix for the win, and sure enough he did it.
A humbling game this is. One minute you have a shot at a near 6 figure score, 10 minutes later you're scrapping to pick a claiming winner at Hawthorne.
