I have just started to learn handicapping and been reading lots. But I have not found out much detail on these 2 subjects so I thought I would post to the forum. So far have only been betting on Harness Racing.
First question: I keep reading that Wind will totally affect the outcome, but I am hoping someone can explain this further. Like does it mostly affect the 1st horse or the outside post?
Do you track the wind and use it to apply to past performances? If so how?
Second question: I have read that many handicappers spend lots of time watching Past races. What kind of information do you document when watching a Live or Past performance? And do you record this information or just use it to make a list of horses that interest you? If you record it, I would be interested to know what level of detail you record.
Please remember I am new to all of this so please be nice :)
