I read this morning they will finish the meet which has 7 days of racing left.
With the Breeders Cup scheduled November 1st & 2nd @ Santa Anita, would you race your horses on this track?
Personally, I don't believe I would & vote to move the BC races to Churchill. I know horses die all across the world but this seems abnormal to me.
The BC has to move now yes-- but I am hoping they move it to Del Mar as the weather is perfect. The BC at Del Mar a few years ago was awesome. Churchill is a great venue the potential crappy November weather may hurt the event. If the BC was ever moved to September I would like it on the east coast at CD or Belmont.
But they just cant keep it at SA due to media risk. If there was a horrific break down in the BC this year at SA then horse racing would be extinct in the US in the next 5 years.
Stronach doesn't own Del Mar. So it will interesting to see if Hollendorfer gets to race there in July.
Many feel Hollendorfer is the scapegoat Santa Anita has chosen.. Almost like, the tack is fine; it's the trainer/owners who are the problem.
If that is true, I don't think Stronach has a leg (so to say ) to stand on.
Hollendorfer is the scapegoat by the Stronach group because they have a track problem at Santa Anita. Hollendorfer got no chance to defend himself and was just banned because he had four horses break down. I wonder if Bob Baffert would be treated the same way if four of his horses had breakdowns. I think NOT!! The Stronach group is a stain on the horseracing industry and should be investigated for their actions in this matter.
Not true. Hollendorfer knows what he's done. Seems like he was the only one that didn't know he was being watched and on the hot seat since March. Vet record swapping, working horses that shouldn't be worked after shock therapy. The last racing secretary was fired for covering up his bull. Which was going on for a while. They call him the butcher do you wonder why? Every good race horse he's ever had he's either killed or ruined.

Shared Belief- Raced with a fractured Pelvis- Mike Smith knew jumped off was told by JH you will never ride horses for me again. That didn't last because Rick Porter who owns SongBird insist he ride her. Rick Porter blames JH for what he did to SongBird.
Trust me- most speculate whats going on at SA but don't know. The best safety protocols in the business right now. Track is currently being resurfaced, but the track was not the problem to begin with. Lame horses being worked, sealed tracks causing micro fractures and them being run back sore but getting shock treatment to mask the pain plus medication issues.
