I have just recently attended a "Rich Dad Poor Dad" free seminar which had some good information but was just a motivator to get you to buy something else(a 3 day training course). That wasn't really what bothered me though as it was expected. The thing that bugged me is that although I thought RDPD served it's purpose of motivation all the rest of the books are basically the same thing with a different cover. I got home and started to research some of the people that had paid for further courses and about 80% of the people that went said it wasted there time abd was a high pressure sales pitch for the next courses. All of the research I have found so far says about the same thing for other Investor courses. Does anyone know of any good investment books or worthwile seminars that don't set me back 5K out of the gate.
I am not looking for overnight success. Iknow there is a lot of homework involved in this, I am just looking for some input about some good reads.

I dont know of any off hand, but there are hundreds of books out there. There are hundreds of ways to invest, but you need to figure out what discipline you are interested in investing and go from there as there will be alot of different books to choose from in that investment catagory. You could probably goto the Barnes & Nobble website and look at what they have available and read the reviews and get an idea. Just a thought. If stocks are where you want to invest, id suggest researching companies now as stocks have been pounded and are at prices well below what they are worth and now is the time to buy before they go back up.
