With the market being this high, the dollar starting to firm and interest rates creeping up, I like cash right now..
Safe is cash..safe is not in any bonds or notes of any kind, they can and will depreciate leaving you negative for seeking "safe".
I know you are older so I would also add that you need to be very cautious about how you plan the next step..do so carefully and do not get sucked into any investments like annuities or anything exotic.

My reply is consistent..

Wall; Ty for feedback. I agree with what you are saying. 50% of my $ is in a ally money market yielding a bit over 1%. Might seem very low but its as safe as it gets if things turn south in markets. By the way, Im not that old. Im 46. :-))))

Sorry for some reason I thought you were older than that!!!
I am mainly cash for my investments but I like to gamble so I do have some bear UVXY and some FAZ which have been hammered with the market going parabolic the last 3 yrs...but I am patient.

Wall- if you have a second can you explain uvxy and faz to someone that does not know much about stocks. I looked them up but don't get it. Is it something like hedging against the market?
Thank you in advance.

Yeah they are HIGH HIGH HIGH risk gambling ETF plays..
Not a good idea to own them but stupid me likes to gamble a bit so I own some.
FAZ is an inverse financial industry play, so it goes up when the index it tracks goes down..
UVXY is the same for the VIX..it is a 3x VIX play that goes up when risk comes into the market..
Problem is that these both have internal issues, both are leveraged and both use options inside the ETF so there is a great deal of decay...not a good play.
I have been very very stubborn about the market going down and I have been wrong on these plays because the FED put a multi trillion dollar marker on the table and stocks have been going up up up up up only because of the FED. I thought the market was more than the FED and never in the history of the markets has the FED put down a sum like this and given free money to gamble as they have
