I have a question for people on this board who understand these things better than I.
So all of these companies are slashing their jobs and no one is hiring (most companies are on a hiring freeze).
So where the hell are these people going to find work? Or . . . what momentum is needed in the economy to allow companies to start creating jobs again. I guess that is the answer I want to know.
So these companies all slash jobs . . . what will make them add to the workforce again? and if they don't . . . where do these people find work?
I guess that is the big problem we'll have come this summer.

They will get unemployment and other services from Obama's stimulus package....also many jobs will never come back especially on wall street. In addition, taxes will need to be lower to give incentives for companies to hire which does not seem to be happening.....also we should try producing goods in the usa instead of buying everything from other countries so we can have some real growth and unfortunately these jobs wont be union paying 70k a year with max benefits but they will create jobs that will actually benefit our country and still allow a normal life. Barack is calling for "change" and indeed there will be change, not sure if it is the change everyone expects but we will see very soon

yeah, there will be a lot of people that go from making a 6 figure income to making 30-40k. They will just have to settle for working a blue collar job, sell their Mercedes Benz and (if they can) sell their homes and downsize. Welcome to the middle class. While people are losing their jobs, there will be jobs created. Some will have to go from doing financial type stuff to working construction. Some will probably go back to school to learn a new career, while others will find similar jobs in other parts of the country. I just hope a lot of the people that have lost their jobs are lucky enough in this situation to NOT be a home owner.
But as far as creating new jobs, im not sure how that is going to happen

Welcome to the legacy of the Bush Administration when the Republicans were voted the majority of the House, and the Senate for Bush Jr. in 2004. The Republican dream to wipe out the labor unions (just like the communist economic model), create the oligarchs and peasants to serve them (just like the communist economic model) and recklessly expand trade (letting them pirate/copy/steal our intellectual property) with the communist Chinese regime. The Republican majorities then gave Bush Jr. a rubber stamp to recklessly expand trade agreements with China, India, Russia, etc. to further create the Republican led American communist economic model or New World Order as pronounced by the Republican President Bush Sr. Now American workers have to compete with 2 billion Chinese and Indians who get little or no retirements, wages, etc. If those 2 billion only take 100 million of our good paying jobs where will our unemployment rate be? Bush and the Republicans crushed the American manufacturing sector, and now we are left with the people building the cars, dryers, dishwashers, etc. unable to purchase the products they make (or a new house) because their wages are too low. Nobody can buy the products and so eventually nobody will be employed to build the products. Can the immeasurable damage from Bush and the Republicans and their anti-union pro-communistic anti-American economic model be changed? Who knows. The bottom line is either we create a viable vibrant manufacturing sector in America again or we don't. It is as simple or impossible as that.

that. ------------ yes...simple as allowing your hammer and sickle marxist labor bretheren to understand that their days of collective bargaining are over. unions make up less than 7% of our workforce these days because assholes like ron gettlefinger have priced his men out of the GLOBAL labor market. american workers are the most expensive in the world. you get this way by having guaranteed raises and a lifetime of goodies that most private workers even in the US dont have.
why would a business pay double the price to have the same product made in america?
we need to make something better and cheaper here than can be done overseas...and i have no idea what that is
