LVS revisited thursday 12-11

interesting move today vs the rest of the gaming group I follow. IGT, WINN, BYD and MGM all down on the day but LVS +0.59 to 5.90 with an itraday high of 6.17 with almost 18 million traded @ 1:30.
 
last tuesdays intraday high was 6.26 early in the session. I think IF it could get back thru that on volume, esp late in the day, it could be a "mini-breakout".
 
no news today but anything + could run some shorts.

looking like a "day trader dump" going into the last hour. still up on the day while the rest, and esp WYNN, are tanking. LVS back to 5.57.

fwiw - fidelity and marsico own a ton of lvs. fidelity disclosed a 30% position in the last few days

thanx for the info, KOAJ. wonder what their cost basis is? recent buy OR are they drowned? I would suspect the latter in which case that's a HUGE overhead.

btw, local news here in Las Vegas friday 12-12 is talking mass layoffs esp at the various LVS properties. was talking to a manager at a locals casino yesterday that also agressively markets to western Canadians and he said the only thing that's kept the town afloat recently is the National Finals Rodeo and that ends this sunday.
 
so much for a "recession proof business"

I'm getting sea sick watching LVS. 25 to 30 cent moves in a matter of seconds all damn day. think it's turned into the "day traders special" with the daily volume which was another 22+ million again today and it backed away from the $6 area again.

 

think IF I see $6+ monday I will blow out and see what happens after the 1st of the year.

well I probably fucked THAT one up. LVS spiked with MGM because of the MGM proposed sale of the TI to an investment group. wasn't up for the open today and LVS almost hit $7 (6.96) and was still around $6.40 when I logged on to my account BUT closed right around $6 and was pretty much all selling from 1:30 est on.
 
I guess I will have to see what happens tomarrow. sure looked like LVS wanted to run early

had enough of "mr toad's wild ride" for awhile so blew out LVS @ 6.25
 
IGT, MGM and WYNN all up big today. LVS opened strong but backed to a low of 5.99 before coming back on some. thinking "better safe than sorry" and I better off to protect the profit. with the complete nuttyness of the market, I might even get another chance at LVS again lower.

FUCK!!! sold just in time for the damn stock to take a run over $7.  
 
the way things have gone for me this year I can't help but think the fucker would have gone the OTHER WAY if I had NOT sold

Oh YA  early intraday high of 9.15 tuesday and then backed off some which is not suprising when you consider anyone who bought under 6 last week was UP 50%

After going through a breakup and re-furnishing the house and buying her out, i depleted a chunk of my savings, im only going to put $500 into my IRA this year and was thinking about investing it all into LVS. Im in this for the long run. I know that Vegas will rebound when the economy rebounds and i have time to wait. What are thoughts for the long term hold on this stock? i feel comfortable with this stock, but just want some encouragement from those of you that know about this company that it isnt going to go bankrupt. Would this be a good stock for the next 10-15 year hold?  I forsee it going back into the $40-$50 range if not higher over that amount of time

after a three day bounce that took LVS from it's recent feb 5th low of 3.30 to 4.53, it's back down 17% on today with the overall market (DJII down almost 400 points). LVS recently payed their prefered dividend which is a good sign BUT any gaming company is still not "out of the woods" in this economy. also MGM made a new 12 month low @ 4.87 today SO I will stick to seeing how LVS does on any retest.
 
probably NO reason to get in a rush buying here. better to pay up a little in the future than try and time a bottom.

im not into timing the down. If i get in at $4 and it goes down to $1 so be it. I beleive it will go back up into the high double digits over the next few years as people start flocking to Vegas again. Ive got 30 years to wait as its my retirement. Im only buying a 150 shares or so, but can forsee me making $10,000 plus on this stock on a $500-$600 investment

I would assume that there will be a pretty good pop when us degenerates get our stimulus checks

What are we getting for stimulus checks?  I know im going out end of April with about 20 others.i'll be taking my tax refund.  Ive heard about possibly getting a stimulus check, but not the amount or when

bot 5k LVS @ $3.02 for a trade BUT it may retest the Nov low.
 
both WYNN and MGM getting hammered to new 12 month lows.
