just curious now, but thinking of getting involved
i used to work for the company and have kicked myself several times for not getting down when the stock was at 10(pre split) then when it was at 16 around 4 years ago
i am just so suprised to see it at this proce, given the agreed upon buyout price of 67 a share
i head FIG had reached a deal so they could start buying PENN shares, which means if the deal goes through they automatically gain around 40% on the shares they own - but so far they haven't bought any? not sure what that means
and what if wachivia doesn't finance the deal with FIG, given Wachovia's poor reports lately - so much speculation in this - maybe i should do a straddle or a strangle, cause it is bound to move hard one way or the other on june 15th

well guess its good you weren't drinking before playing your LL game...
wasn't in the office today, but saw some headlines this evening that make the ADS / Blackstone deal look dead in the water. Obviously completely different industry, but this won't be good for sentiment for any pending mergers. prob see PENN cheaper on Monday. i did hear the same about them being able to buy stock in the open market. Its my smallest position because of the risk, options strategy might not be a bad idea. Need to be a lawyer to figure this one out...good luck whatever you end up doing

there is agreat article in the nypost/blogspot page - don't have the link but it basically talks about the contract setup for this FIG/PENN deal(and the other provate equity company) i'll see if I can find it - a lot has to do with states approval, but so far most states are approving everything
